The resort is named after the famous Bretton Woods Conference which took place in 1944. Here the “Bretton Woods System” was established which became the new international monetary system.

West Mountain Area:
Rosebrook Lane: This trail is a gentle slope, perfect for beginners to practice their skiing skills. It provides a scenic route through the West Mountain area. Typically, our ski lessons meet in this area.Base Area:
Learning Center Slopes: The base area of Bretton Woods has dedicated learning slopes designed for beginners. This is where a lot of our lessons take place. These slopes often include gentle terrain and are serviced by beginner-friendly lifts, such as surface conveyors or magic carpets, which make it easier for beginners to access the slopes.Zephyr Trail: Zephyr is a long and winding beginner trail. It starts from the summit of the mountain and winds its way down with a gentle slope. It provides beginners the ability to enjoy a longer descent while taking in beautiful mountain views.
Slopeside Trail: A great spot located near the base area and is suitable for beginners. It’s a wide, groomed trail that provides a comfortable and manageable experience for those new to skiing.
Bretton’s Wood: This trail is another option for beginners and is known for its wide and forgiving terrain. It is accessible from the summit, allowing beginners to experience a descent from a higher elevation.
At your lesson, your ski level will be assessed and the instructor will select the most fitting area of the mountains.
