Other Tahoe Ski Resorts
KT 22 is a notorious peak, claimed to have the “best chairlift in the world,” by the access to diverse and challenging terrain. It’s name comes from the story that prior to the chairlift, it took 22 kick turns to reach the bottom from the top.
The largely, treeless mountain and views give Squaw /Palisades a unique environment for wintersports.
Palisades was originally called “Squaw” or “Squaw Valley.” It was home to the Winter Olympics and was created as a resort with international recognition. Big shot skiers, like Johnny Mosely, and others called this ski area, “home.” As a result, many started calling Squaw “Squawllywood.”
